El D\u00eda del M\u00e9dico Venezolano se celebra el 10 de marzo, d\u00eda de nacimiento de Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Vargas. La fecha fue seleccionada en la sesi\u00f3n de la Federaci\u00f3n M\u00e9dica Venezolana el 10 de marzo de 1955 en conmemoraci\u00f3n del natalicio del m\u00e9dico y ex presidente de Venezuela, el Dr. Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Vargas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vargas fue un eminente m\u00e9dico, humanista, sabio, escritor, orador, investigador cient\u00edfico, y s\u00edmbolo del Poder Civil en Venezuela, en una \u00e9poca en que los Generales y los Coroneles pretend\u00edan el ejercicio del Gobierno en compensaci\u00f3n a sus servicios militares durante la Guerra de Independencia.<\/span><\/p>\n
