Nueve dirigentes sociales de izquierda perdieron la vida en una operaci\u00f3n de ajusticiamiento y exterminio perpetrada por la Disip, dirigida por Henry L\u00f3pez Sisco. Acusados falsamente de pertenecer a la guerrilla, estos l\u00edderes carec\u00edan de armas pero portaban ideales emancipadores representados por libros de Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar y peri\u00f3dicos de izquierda. La masacre, ocurrida el 8 de mayo de 1986 bajo el gobierno de Jaime Lusinchi, se enmarca en un contexto de persecuci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica contra quienes se opon\u00edan al r\u00e9gimen. Durante a\u00f1os, el caso fue silenciado, sin pronunciamiento de la CIDH.
